Saint Joseph Convent School
editSaint Joseph Convent School, located on Convent Road, Silom district, Bangrak, Bangkok, Thailand, is an all-girl private school. It is one of the schools in the Soeurs de Saint-Pual de Chartres group, a Roman Catholic priest group from France. The school has available courses from grade 1 to grade 12. Now, the school has about 5,000 students.
Saint Joseph Convent School was founded on 5 December 1907 by Mere Saint-Xavier. The first building was designed by Mister Alfredo Rigazzi, an architect from Italy. In 1969, Trinity Hall, the main auditorium, was built. Also, the school has a chapel built for religious activities.
In the earliest stage, Saint Joseph Convent School had students from European children who lived in Thailand. Courses emphasize languages such as English and French. In academic, the school concentrates on education such as mathematics, science, history, geography, morality, art, music, and handicraft. After the earliest stage Thai people were interested in the school and sent their children to study in the school. So, the school has improved the courses to conform with a Thai educational system.
