Bishop Samson Olajide Akanbi is a Nigerian religious leader known for his contributions to evangelism, church growth, and gospel music. Born into the family of Solomon and Rebecca Ademola Akanbi of Arubiewe's compound in Isale-ora, Oja-Igbo, Ogbomoso, Akanbi's early life was marked by challenges due to visual impairment.

He commenced his primary education at [1], Jos, between 1982 and 1988. Despite his visual challenges, the school's proprietor, Elder Aderounmu, provided special attention through personal tutoring, enabling him to complete his primary education. Denied entry into secondary education due to his disability, Akanbi persisted and eventually completed his secondary education at [2] thanks to a missionary's intervention.

A pivotal moment came when Akanbi experienced a spiritual awakening during a revival in Jos led by the late Prophet Timothy Obadare. This marked the beginning of his journey in ministry, characterized by his outreach efforts, particularly in villages around Jos.

Akanbi's involvement in [3] included roles such as drama coordinator, youth president, and musical band leader. His calling led him to [4] where he obtained a special education certificate. Subsequently, he pursued theological studies at the [5] obtaining a theology certificate in May 2006.

In recognition of his contributions to evangelism and church growth, Akanbi was honored with the [8] at the Western Wall in Jerusalem in December 2017. He later became a Bishop-elect through the Lowo College of Bishop and Apostle International, Ibadan, in November 2020.

Akanbi is the founder and president of [9]. Despite his visual challenges, he has overcome obstacles with the support of the Holy Spirit. He is married to Rev. Mrs. Adenike Akanbi (née Odegbade), a registered nurse and midwife, and together they have children named Opa-Majemu, Amure-Majemu, and Asia-Majemu.
