He is a distinguished artist whose work has been shown widely throughout Scotland and internationally.^[2]His native roots in north East Scotland has had a heavy influence on his work and the local tradition of oral history plays a major part in his career, he performs using many songs that were simply handed on by word of mouth.^[3] Exhibitions In 1990 Watson and David Mach exhibited at the Venice Biennale alongside Anish Kapoor
