Honda Civic EP (Seventh Generation) is The Honda Civic EP was introduced in America, Europe and Japan in 2001 and was sold in several different trim options and engine sizes. the american market only saw the Civic SI which was a 'softer' versian of the Type-R with a K20A3 engine with 160bhp. in europe the ep came in four chassis codes: Civic EP1 D14 Civic EP2 D16V1 Civic EP3 K20A2 Civic EP4

JDM

Even though all EP's were built in swindon, the JDM version was built to a near completion stage then shipped over to Japan where the finishing touches were made, these changes included uprated camshafts, inlet manifold and exhaust, and a Helical LSD (Limited-slip Differential. interior touches included Recaro bucket seats and an Alpine double-din head unit that was later seen in the limited UKDM Premier Edition.


Facelift Models

In 2004 the civic was give a facelift with revised headlights and tail-lights, front bumper and wing mirrors which now housed the side indicaters. The facelift also saw the Sport and Type-R models recieve a trip computer and launch control embedded in the factory ECU. The steering was also revised due to criticism from car reviwers for understeer when pushed to the limit and lack of feedback. There are said to be a total of 1500 changes, though many unoticable to anyone outside of the swindon factory.

The UKDM and EUDM Civic Type-R came with the K20A2, producing 197bhp.
