Early life

St. Paul, MN

Paul was born at the old Mounds Park Hospital in St. Paul. He lived at various locations in St. Paul while his father attended Bethel College & Seminary, the last of which was at 1337 Pascal St., between the Como Zoo and the Minnesota State Fair.

He attended Kindergarten and first grade at the Tilden Elementary School that stands where Tilden Park now exists.

When his father graduated from Bethel Seminary in 1964, Paul and his family moved to Hordville, Nebraska, where his father became the pastor of the Baptist Church.
