About Me
editMy name is Patrick Sanford, and I live in Georgetown, Kentucky. I am a graduate of the Lockmasters Security Institute's Professional Industrial Locksmithing course with Simplex certification, and ASSA certification. I'm currently a student at KCTCS and in my second year of perusing an associates degree in computer programming. I've been visiting the wiki for the past couple of years now. I was once fired from a tech support job for wasting all my time browsing the Wikipedia, and eating up bandwidth. I've only recently become interested in editing, and contributing to articles.
Family
editI met my wife over the internet, and we married about nine months after we met. Not only has she given me her love, friendship, and understanding, but two children who I dearly love. I've been known to greatly test her patience at times, and her ability to tolerate my annoying ways is nothing if not miraculous.
Religion
editI am a Wiccan primarily. I consider Wicca not so much to be a faith, but rather a way. Wicca can guide our lives and help us to become more in tune with the devine, but it is not the end of the road. To speak honestly, I generally find things here and there that agree with my personal beliefs or expand them. These ideals are then taken into the whole to reshape and redefine what I believe, and thus allow me to change, adapt, and grow. Due to this it is very difficult to say exactly what I believe. I believe many things, and I believe nothing at all. The contridiction is superficial. On this path of life we are not given maps to show us the way, so that we might discover the way on our own. To go another way does not lessen the journy, for all paths lead inexorable to The One. There are many things that I will not discuss here, because they can not be heard with the eyes. Only the ears may hear spoken word, as only the heart may judge truth. There are some things that man is not meant to know, but only to accept.
Locksmithing
editI became interested in locksmithing a couple of years ago while working as a security guard. I quit that job, and work breifly as an apprentice for a local locksmith company. Unfortuanatly the shop was unable to afford the cost of training an apprentice, and was forced to let me go. I then enrolled at Lockmasters Security Institute and attended their professional industrial locksmithing course. The class lasted two weeks, and I earned certification in Simplex locks, a sponsership to the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA), four college credits, and I'm currently awaiting word regarding my ASSA certification. As soon as I am able to save up the money for an ALOA membership I will be accecpted into the orginisation as a locksmith, thus skipping apprenticeship.
Interesting Factoids
editI am a direct decendant of Geronimo. Geronimo was my Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Grand-Father (That's seven Greats!). Due to this Chiricahua Apache heritage my skin is about two shades darker than other white people. Most people don't notice this unless I point it out to them because it looks like I have a year round tan.. I also have my ancestors eyes.
A lot of people mistakenly believe that Geronimo was a chief among his people when in fact he was a medicine man. His actual name was Goyaałé. Geronimo being a name he earned from Mexican Soldiers.
Sword of Truth
editMy favorite author is Terry Goodkind, and I am a big fan of his Sword of Truth series. I own a copy of each book in the series except for Phantom. I'm currently re-reading the series before I buy the next volume, as I have done since the release of Naked Empire. I do most of my editing in the related areas of Wikipedia, and am often accused of promoting fanon.
PHP
editI've been spending quite a bit of time learning how to use PHP and find the language to be very interesting. Studying PHP has given me a great head start on some of my classes. I'm planning on taking a PHP course next semester and getting even better at using the language to create a personal website.
