Ranjith Balan is a social entrepreneur from Kerala, India.
Ranjith Balan is a Social Entrepreneur and a Public Policy Analyst. He co-founded several technology/environment startups and is currently the CEO of Doubtbox,[1] a leading e-learning company in India. Products from his earlier educational start-up, e-Tutor, is used by more than 1 Lakh students across India. He was also the Co-Founder of the Micro Delivery startup AM Needs[2] which has done more than 5 Million deliveries in 3 years. AM Needs[3] was acquired by FFZ in 2022. His environmental startup, Renova,[4] [5] which was India's first automatic food waste disposer, was later acquired by Fox Compactors, USA.
Government of Kerala Nominated Ranjith Balan as the Director Board Member of Technopark and Member of Working Group on IT of the Kerala State Planning Board in the year 2011. He was also nominated as a member of the General Council of Kerala State Open School in 2014. When Govt. of Kerala formed Cyberdome in 2015, which is a PPP model technological research and development center under Kerala Police, Ranjith Balan was nominated as a member of its Project Implementation Board.
Ranjith has also been the IT Expert Committee Member of Guruvayur and Travancore Devaswom Boards. He is the Executive Committee Member of GTECH (Group of Technology companies in Kerala) and the Member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Kerala chapter.
He is serving as the Director of Institute of Social Research and action (ISRA),[6] a non-governmental organization working on issues affecting the urban and rural civil societies. He was the first IT Cell Chairman of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee[7] as well.
He completed his B-Tech in Computer Engineering from Government Engineering College, Thrissur and has more than 20 years of experience in the IT Industry.
