The Collin County Outer Loop is a circumferential multimodal toll road project that will run along the north and east borders of Collin County.
Future Right-of-Way and Build-out
editThe Outer Loop has been divided into five segments with a western terminus at the Dallas North Tollway and a southern terminus at the Rockwall County line presumably to connect to Interstate 30 in the future.
- Segment 1 - US 75 to SH 121
- Segment 2 - FM 6 to Rockwall County line
- Segment 3 - Dallas North Tollway to US 75
- Segment 4 - FM 6 to US 380
- Segment 5 - SH 121 to US 380
The typical ultimate build-out for this project is 500 ft. with 2-lane frontage roads, and 5-lane mainlanes with a 102 ft. median for future rail lines.
Segment 1
editAs of December 2012, the northernmost frontage road of Segment 1 is completed and is currently two-way later to be converted to a one-way frontage road with the construction of its southern eastbound twin 500 feet south. Its westernmost terminus is at CR 283 as it crosses US 75 and its easternmost terminus is 1/2 mile east along SH 121 from CR 1220.
