Stuff about me
|
Hi, I'm Michael. Phædrus (æ = alt+145) is my most common online monicker, so everyone just calls me Phae or Phæ. I am extremely interested in Wikipedia and use it to look up everything - from the year Queen's third album came out, to the method through which liquid oxygen is created, to what Known Space stories there are that I haven't read yet. My interests range from music to science to reading to computers, and even to Philosophy (Robert Pirsig is the best!).
I like to read and post on debate forums in my spare time. I also program (using Python), though my skills are somewhat limited. I play guitar and piano - I have a 1972, nylon stringed acoustic guitar and an Epiphone Special II (the cheap version of a cheap knock-off of the Gibson Les Paul) (pictures coming someday). My favorite kind of music is classic rock, like Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Who, and Meat Loaf.
I am in 11th grade and have an IQ of 159. I am an honors student in all subjects. I enjoy math and science problems, and am especially interested in physics and molecular biology.
I am extremely interested in Science Fiction, especially that by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, and Robert A. Heinlein. My top five favorite books are Lila: An Inquiry into Morals (Robert M. Pirsig), The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress ( Heinlein), Lucifer's Hammer (Niven and Pournelle), Fahrenheit 451 (Ray Bradbury), and Ringworld (Niven).
My contributions to Wikipedia are somewhat limited - most things I'm interested in either need little editing or I don't know what to add. However, whenever I see something that needs doing, I do my best to do it.
My two favorite people are Kassie and Rachel.
