In 1950, the National Drama Company of Korea was founded with the National Theater of Korea. and is the only theater group to have inherited Korea’s modern drama history and has also nurtured highly talented actors over the years to be a cradle of Korean performing arts.[1] Since 1986, the ‘World Classic Stage’ has planned to introduce world-famous classic series made by ‘first-class’ production teams and has performed 20 plays including <Uncle Vanya>, <Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme>, <The Robbers>, <Hamlet, the Terrorist>. In 2004, the National Drama Company of Korea launched the ‘Restoration of the Representative Repertoires & Re-creation Series’ project and has performed <Thunderstorm>, <Attachment of Life>, <Wildfire>, <Spray>, <Merchandise of Venice>, <Celebration at the Maeng Jin Sa> and will continue to build various repertoires for the National Drama Company of Korea. Through such activities, the National Drama Company of Korea will give its best to adopt excellent international works in a ‘Korean way’ and globalize our works with a uniquely Korean identity and flourish in the dawn of this new era.
