I am a retired Army intelligence officer who spent seven years in the military's "Star Gate" remote viewing program (before it was named "Star Gate"!). In the interest of full disclosure, I teach remote viewing commercially, but also am president of the non-profit International Remote Viewing Association, which was founded by the original researchers of the remote viewing program (Targ & Puthoff), together with a group of us other folks who had been involved in the program in one way or another over the years. You can learn more about the organization at www.irva.org. My undergraduate and masters degrees are in Middle East studies, and I'm a doctoral candidate (ABD) in philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin, writing on philosophy of mind, consciousness, and philosophy of science.
While I am clearly a remote-viewing partisan, and supporter of ESP/psi research in general, I recognize the value of the neutral perspective that founds the Wikipedian ideal. I hope to help that neutral view be more readily apparent in articles on parapsychology in general and remote viewing in particular.
