It is used to make repetitive automated or semi-automated edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually, in accordance with the bot policy. This bot does not yet have the approval of the community, or approval has been withdrawn or expired, and therefore shouldn't be making edits that appear to be unassisted except in the operator's or its own user and user talk space. Administrators: if this bot is making edits that appear to be unassisted to pages not in the operator's or its own userspace, please block it. |

Exclusion Compliant
editThe PinpointBot family is proud to be exclusion compliant (including message opt-out where applicable!).
PinpointBot Respect
editPinpointBot Respect is designed as a collaborative vandalism-fighting tool. It utilises Wikipedia's greatest feature, collaborative editing, to help deal with Wikipedia's greatest weakness, collaborative editing.
Users will be able to edit Respect's rules library to develop the ultimate vandalism-detection tool. By allowing vetted users to add to its ruleset, Respect will provide a solution for finding vandalism that slips past other, more careful, bots.
Respect is named as such because it does not interfere with the operation of Wikipedia in any way. It requests very little information from Wikipedia, is controlled manually and never, ever, edits the article namespace. It simply logs vandal activity that bots with fixed rulesets miss.
Technologies
edit- Languages - PHP, XML, XSLT, XML Schema, SQL

PinpointBot doesn't want to harm Wikipedia. In fact, it really wants to help. If you appreciate PinpointBot then give it some hugs and barnstars. It loves the attention! If it screws up, please don't try to get it shut down! It is a labour of love and there's nothing some patches won't fix.
