A Human Nothing are a Chilliwack, British Columbia-based band, with a career spanning from 2009 to the present.

Influenced by a wide range of artists such as Godspeed! You Black Emporer, Isis, The Mars Volta, Tool, and Battles, the band has a focus on creating an accurate reflection of the conscious and subconscious mind, effectively translating their thoughts into an "auditory experience".

Formation And Early Shows (2007–2010)

edit

The 3 original band members (Andrew Muller, Michael Schellenberg, and Jet Crossley) met in high school at G.W. Graham Middle-Secondary school where they would sometimes get together after school.

In 2007 they performed several small school concerts, playing covers from bands such as Muse, John Mayer; and certain classic rock tunes.

In the September after Michael Schellenberg and Andrew Muller's graduation (2009), the 3 decided to start getting more serious about their music and made music writing a more regular thing. The following August they performed their first show of about 20 attendee's, with 45 minute's of original material (as well as the Tool cover Sober and the Battles Cover IP2). This show was only performed after having 2 other engagements already planned, but upon having the gigs canceled the band decided to create their own show consisting mainly of close friends. It was organized in 19 hours.

They went on to create the event Live At The Grass Amphitheater; an outdoor concert located in upper mountains surrounding Chilliwack at a natural amphitheater. The show ended up being a major success for the band, and led to several more shows and gained popularity for the band.

Loss Of a Drummer (2010)

edit

On October 31st, 2010 the band's drummer Jet Crossley played his last show with the band, and due to rising tension from Artistic and Creative differences, he left the band.

Over the next few months Michael Schellenberg and Andrew Muller continued expanding their musical tastes and recording their songs. Because they never had a chance to do any recording with Jet Crossley, they started recording the 6 original songs they had using Garageband in order to create a suitable Demo.
