Sandhyia Gosine

Author of “A Walk through Life“. Born to Simbhoo Gosine (1937-2012) and Chandrawatee Gosine (1940) of Trinidad West Indies. Sandhyia aka Sandy has been a contributing writer for a number of newspapers including The Herald, New York Times, The West Indian. She began her career as a photographer shortly after the birth of her daughter Isabella Ramcharitar. Sandy in involved in numerous charities and causes including suicide prevention, childhood abuse and substance abuse coalitions. She is currently writing a book about her own abuse as a child, her story captures the dark and eerie truth that is involved in the lives of abuse victims, but more importantly how she has managed to rise beyond the constraints of societal taboos and social shaming that are present especially in the West Indian community.
