Molly Caitlin Johnson (born June 2, 1981) is an independent dance artist born and raised in Baddeck, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Molly studied with Halifax Dance before attending and graduating from the School of Toronto Dance Theatre http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_School_of_Toronto_Dance_Theatre . Molly has worked with such amazing people as Susie Burpee, Julia Sasso, and Nova Bhattacharya, and has performed with such companies as the Irondale Ensemble Project (Halifax) and Zata Omm Dance Projects. She is an ongoing collaborator with BoucharDanse, and with Forcier Stage Works. Molly has spent six summers performing in parks across Ontario and beyond with Dusk Dances, and dances for Montréal’s Le Carré des Lombes. In the winter of 2012, she received an Ontario Arts Council Residency grant, which brought her to Berlin for the purposes of exploration and renewal. Currently, Molly is involved in new creations with Heidi Strauss/adelheid, and with Tina Fushell, in addition to pursuing her own projects and artistic research. In her spare time, Molly is a dance juror for the 2012/13 Dora Mavor Moore Awards. She is a member of the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists and the Dancer Transition Resource Centre.
