Pushpa Chandana Dissanayake (Sinhala පුෂ්ප චන්දන දිසානායක) Born in 25th May 1961 also known as Chandana Dissanayake is a singer, mandolin player, creative writer and also an Admin of the Free Thinkers Sri Lanka facebook Group Page and Friends Who Like US Embassy Colombo Sri Lanka. Chandana grew up in Kubalgamuva, Walapane and attended Keerthi Bandara college Kumbalgamuva. His first music master was Mr. Wijekoon school music teacher. He entered Sri Lanka Ports Authority as an employee in 1985 and retired in 2002 under the voluntary retirement scheme. During the period in SLPA he was attached to several divisions and also a active member and the Mandolin player of the Ports Authority's Musical Band. He is a "B" grade artist in singing of Sri Lanka Broad Casting Corporation. His first audio cassette was "Doladeniye" His first Music CD is "Hela Hela Hela Daruvo Rana Rana Rana Viruvo" "හෙළ හෙළ හෙළ දරුවෝ රණ රණ රණ විරුවෝ" in respect of the brave solders he has named this Compact Disc (CD). His creations of music have been composed by Dr. Rohana Weerasinghe, Clarence Wijewardena, Stanly M. Fernando, Susantha Madurapperuma and Chandana Dissanayake. Lyrics were written by Dr. Ajantha Ranasinghe, Dharmasiri Gamage, Sarath Wimalaweera, Godwin De. Alwis, Anoma Damayanthi, Swarna Sri Deepal and Dammika Waduge, His first One Man musical show was held in John De. Silva memorial Theater Colombo 7, 9th January in 1998 with the participation of Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority. Music Arrangements and directing was done by the erudite Music Director Sena Jayantha Weerasekara. Chandana is the youngest family members of six members of a family. His Father was Dingiri Banda Dissanayake and the mother Loku Menike Rathnayake. Chandana Dissanayake is a Diploma Holder. Diploma Diploma in Advance English For Administration and Academic Purposes University Of Colombo Sri Lanka. He is a father of daughter Prabodhi Dissanayake and son Dayantha Randil Dissanayake.
