[edit] Article Choice
I choose two articles one from Britannica and the other from wikepedia and decided to compare both articles. The article in wikepedia has more contextual information and also more attributions and references. Wikepedia also has more modern information and has more picture source.
[edit] Layout
The aricle in Britannica has no particular type of layout or format. It just lay out the information and has importanant keywords bolded for quick reference. Subsequently, in wikedpedia the article is divided into 11 sections whicih the sections include, early life and education, intelligence career, positions, career after leaving the CIA, his government positions, his work with the Obama administration, appointments, criticism, awards and decorations, notes, futher readings and external links. I found the layout of the article digitally in wikepedia to be more factual and have more information that is necessary.
[edit] Content Analysis
Both articles does a great job in describing and giving information on Robert Gates. However wikepedia has more of the latest information on Robert Gates. Another difference between the two articles in that Britannica has only five small paragraphs about Robert Gates while wikepedia has over 20 paragraphs covering Robert Gates in more detail with external links. Both articles cover necessary information but wikepedia is more accesible and updated which I found to be necessary in studying government officials in which their biography and job positions changes concurrently.
