Janne Lindgren
Janne Lindgren was a Swedish pedal steel guitar player born May 3, 1944. He started playing the pedal steel in 1962 as a pioneer in Sweden and might be the first who played the instrument in Europe. He also started the first Swedish country band, called Country Minstrels, in 1964.
During his active career he played the pedal steel guitar on over 5000 songs and together with both Swedish and international artists like ABBA, Vikingarna, Ann-Louise Hanson, Gunnar Wiklund and many more. He has also performed with famous international country music artists like Wanda Jackson and Bobby Flores. He was a teacher in pedal steel guitar at the The Royal College of Music in Stockholm, operating from his own studio and business Steel Guitar Music.
Janne Lindgren can also play dobro, guitar, bass, keyboard, trumpet and more and he both collected and sold various instruments.
