Sri Malyadri Lakshmi Narasima Swamy Temple, Malakonda

This Temple is located at a distance of 34 km from Kandukur on the Pamuru road in the south-west direction of Kandukur, Nellore district.

There is a legend that when Shri Maha vishnu asked Shri Maha lakshmi to make his "Vanamala" into a mountain shape in order to visit the world with Shri Mahalakshmi, Vanamala became "Malyadri". It is said in Sthala Purana that Agastya Mahamuni performed penance on this Malyadri and in appreciation of that penance Swami became special in the form of a flame with red light and therefore this Swami became known as Jwala Narasimhunu.

Another strange goddess of Shri Maha lakshmi on this hill was angry with Lord Swami and the hill split in two at her sight. As it is said in the legends that Amma went and sat on the top of the hill, the gap in the middle of the magnificent hills, the narrow staircase path is such a way that even obese people can walk on this path and it looks wonderful to the devotees.  A Shivalinga is installed in a wide cave under a single stone and gives the spiritual feeling that "Shiva Keshavu" is one. Blessed are those who have taken refuge in the life of Shri Lakshmi Nrisimhu, who is sitting on this one Shiva temple the week On that day the Devasthanam is celebrated by them. These temples are open for devotees to visit only one day in the week "Saturday". In this temple, the worship programs are conducted according to Pancharatra Agama.
