Alex Yarmak, born Oleksandr Yarmak (Ukrainian : Олександр Ярмак) - Ukrainian musician, sound engineer and record producer.
He began his career as a solo artist in 2021.[1]. In early 2024, Alex Yarmak started collaborating with the Dutch band Within Temptation. They jointly released a song titled A Fool's Parade. The band announced that all proceeds from this song will be donated to aid Ukraine during the Russian invasion of Ukraine[2].
Career
editSince 2021, Oleksandr has been creating rock music as a solo artist under the pseudonym Alex Yarmak. His discography includes six albums: Limits, Square Two, Slowdown Sessions, No Pity for the Sinking Ship, Slowdown Sessions II, and ROOTS GROW DEEP. The last three albums were written during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and reflect on the related events. Songs from these albums have been featured on several Spotify editorial playlists, including "All New Metal," "The Core," "New Core," "Industrial Metal," and others, through which Oleksandr began to gain listeners from abroad[3][4].
In Ukraine, he gained prominence in 2022 following his collaboration with the band хейтспіч, resulting in the release of two joint songs,Stepan Pantera and LINA[5], and as a co-author and producer he participated in the recording of the mini-album Золоті Пісні 2023. In addition to хейтспіч, Oleksandr has worked as a music producer and sound engineer with the Kyiv-based rock band BLIND8, with which they created songs such as bulletproof, on my own, abandoned, 5AM and Overcome The Darkness[6]
