Welcome to the userpage of Railfan2103.
Railfan2103 supports all Boston sports teams, as well as a few other teams. Some people ask me "Could you live without sports?" My reply is a firm "NO".
I have been following Boston sports since about 2003 (I saw a few Red Sox and Patriots games before then, but not many), and I've been following the Sabres since the lockout ended. I'm not too sure why I like the Sabres, I just think there's a lot of history involved with that team (ie. French Connection, the Aud), the fans are awesome, and the team itself is great at the moment.

I have been fortunate enough to see some memorable games over the short course of my life and look forward to much more in the future.
In 2010 I witnessed the completely embarrassing collapse of the Bruins in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Often folks forget that the Bruins blew TWO 3-0 leads. They had the 3-0 lead in the series that they lost, but also a 3-0 lead in game seven, which was at home!
Finally, I've seen some great moments in the Olympics, including the U.S. winning the basketball gold medal in 2008, Michael Phelps winning eight gold medals in 2008, and the men's ice hockey team winning silver in 2010.
I have always wanted to have a background in the Information Technology field, because I feel that with a background in computers, I can go just about anywhere. My father in my opinion played a large role in teaching me how to use a computer in the late-90s, so I have him to thank for getting me started. My family bought their first computer in 1997; it ran Windows 95 and, at the time, was great technology.
Today, Windows 7 is out there with about a thousand different editions if you take into consideration Starter, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise, not to mention the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of each (Microsoft can't just follow in Apple's footsteps and have one desktop operating system, and one server operating system). I enjoy using Windows 7, but XP or 2000 is probably my favorite Windows operating system. Ubuntu is my primary choice for Linux, but then again, I haven't had much experience with the Linux family.
Some computers have built up over the years at my house, running operating systems as old as Mac OS 7 on the Mac side, and Windows 98 for PCs. I enjoy having old computers around, because it gives me the opportunity to see how far the industry has come, even in the past five to six years. Remember that in the early 2000s, multi-core processing was just coming out; now it's an expectation. Back in the day, the internet wasn't as big as it is today also. We think as a society that computers are a big part of our lives. If this is what they are like now, I can't imagine what they'll be like in ten years.
I enjoy playing video games when I have time. I certainly don't play as much as a used to, but it's nice to get away every once in a while and play for a bit. I have been lucky enough to play a wide variety of games, and as I said earlier in this section, I can't imagine where we'll be in ten years, especially when it comes to games.

I have learned various programming languages in school, including HTML, CSS, and VB.NET. As a beginning Javascript programmer, I have quickly learned that this language is a very unforgiving one, unlike HTML and VB.NET. A single error in the CASE of your letters has the potential to mess up the entire script.
Through my education at school, I have gained a lot of experience shooting video, as well as editing. I am lucky enough to have the chance to use Macs and Final Cut Pro for editing. In my opinion, learning never ends, meaning that I have the potential to improve in working with video.
I don't have a problem with new music, I just think not as much talent went into creating it as the amount of talent that was required to make music in the 1970s and 80s. Today, we have synthesizers and other technology that make the job easy, and very little of it existed back then. If a new song plays on the radio, I'll listen to it, but I prefer older music.
My favorite music comes from AC/DC, Boston, Guns 'n Roses. Basically anything from the 1960s to 90s works for me, but like I said, I will listen to anything. Coldplay, Nickelback, and Smash Mouth are my favorite bands from more recent times.
I have never been on a plane before in my life, and I think that explains the low number of states that I have visited. I went down to Baltimore with my family in 2007 with my family to catch a few Red Sox games, and to New York City in 2008 as part of a class trip in school. Both are very beautiful cities with much to see and are very nice to visit every now and then, but I don't know if I would ever want to live there.
Sometime in the future, more specifically after high school, I would like to take a road trip for a while all over the country. Being in the United States, there is a lot to see, and I think that some of us unfortunately take that for granted.
