Atomic County is a spin-off, animated television series based on the comic book of the same name, which featured in The O.C. The "mobisodes", which have also been referred to as "webisodes", were based on cartoon versions of characters out of the The O.C.
History
editAtomic County is a comic book featured in the second series of The O.C. Orginally in comic the characters The Ironist, Little Miss Vixen, Kid Chino and Cosmo Girl represented The O.C. characters Seth Cohen, Summer Roberts, Ryan Atwood and Marissa Cooper. However for the animated series Marissa's character was renamed Cosmolass,[2] probably to distinguish it from the magazine.
Other characters featured in the animated series also appeared as drawings in The O.C. In the ? epsiode of the ? series the "demonic water-polo player" is depicted.[3]

editIn the twenty-third episode of season three, when Anna bumps into Seth at Brown she congratulates him on the success of Atomic County, and states "that V CAST was hilarious" to which Seth replies "what the hell's a V CAST".[4]
In a neat tie-in, at the 2006 San Diego Comic Con four limited edition maquettes of The Ironist, Little Miss Vixen, Kid Chino and Cosmolass were sold to promote Atomic County.[5] In The O.C. Seth and Ryan had themselves previously visited a fictional version of the convention.[6]
