A semi-retired journalist and widowed father, Raymond Brown is Scottish and was born in Clydebank. Now 60, he started his career in journalism after his friend Jonathan Ashby who was CEO of WENN (World Entertainment News Network) offered him a job.
At 37, he became a reporter covering showbiz news feeding exclusive stories and features to national and international newspapers and magazines. Celebrity interviews and sourcing pictures. Radio correspondent supplying audio news to ABC NEWS in USA and INDEPENDENT RADIO NEWS in UK. Covering celebrity events, editing interviews and writing news stories for national newspaper’s news pages and showbiz columns.
He then joined First News with photo-journalist Nick Stern covering Hertfordshire/Essex/London.
Working on order from all national newspapers and supplying exclusive news and pictures.

-Work on news desk. Many of my stories picked up by the nationals, TV and radio including “asylum seekers eating swans”, Gazza to become parish councillor, Hertford’s links to the Holy Grail and many stories about the Beckhams, who live on the patch.
Radio: Weekly broadcasts on Hertbeat Fm, local radio.
Raymond became crime reporter at Cambridge News where he worked from 2007-2018.
He was married to Dr Lisa Steen in 1999. She died of cancer in 2016.
