Star Wars 1313 was a third-person action-adventure video game that was being developed by LucasArts for the Microsoft Windows and Xbox One platforms. It was originally set to be published by LucasArts sometime in 2014. The game was based on the Star Wars franchise and was to take place in the planet-city of Coruscant. 1313 was the first Star Wars-licensed video game to be developed for eight-generation consoles and was cancelled in April 2013, with the closure of LucasArts.

The game was to follow the adventures of a bounty hunter through level 1313, located beneath the surface of Coruscant. Although little was unveiled about the story, it was supposed to take place at the same time than the prequel films. Its gameplay was mostly based on third-person shooting mixed with standard action-adventure elements.

Gameplay

edit

Star Wars 1313 is an action-adventure video game played from a third-person perspective set in Coruscant, a fictional city-planet within the Star Wars universe. The player takes the role of a bounty hunter that must accomplish a series of missions throughout level 1313, located beneath the surface of the planet.[1] Unlike previous Star War-themed games such as The Force Unleashed and its sequel, 1313 was focused on the use of weapons along human skills and gadgets instead of Force powers and lightsabers.[1] Combat in the game was designed as a mixture of fast-paced action along with cover-based mechanics in a third-person shooter-like fashion.[1]

Development

edit

LucasArts, the video games development and publishing divison of Lucasfilm, developed Star Wars 1313.[1] Additional development duties were handled by Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm Animation and Skywalker Sound.

1313 is the first Star Wars game[citation needed] to be developed using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3.[1][2]

1313 is the first shooting Star Wars game since Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, released in 2003. It is also the first not to feature a Jedi Knight or a Sith Lord as the main character, and the first to be entirely set in Coruscant.
