My Current Projects has a user page which is a cheap knock off of an article page from the on-line encyclopedia, Wikipedia. When not making bad jokes, I endeavor in projects here on Wikipedia which revolve more around themes and ideas than anything very well organized. I'm tryin', a'ight?!
NOC
editNerds of Color is a website, and part of the Hard NOC Media family. Nerds of Color also produces a podcast of the same name, and was established in 201X by .
SHSM
edit- Begin the history from page 109 concerning the Bay Collection.
Dixie and CBI
editI wrote my thesis on the Dixie Mission, and as a result, I'm doing my best to update to Wikipedia information on the mission, as well as those who were connected to it. You can check out the contributions page to see what exactly I've done in that sense. Many more members remain nothing but pitiful red-linked names, and others are nothing but blue linked stubs. Argh. Until I get my books back from my post-graduate move, I'm handicapped. I plan to go in and do my best to make these at least good articles. I won't bother with the red linked, except the very critical, but below is a list of what I plan to do:
Red Wiki-Critical
editBlue Stubs
editJust need material expansion to graduate to next level!
- Wilbur J. Peterkin - A commanding officer of the Dixie Mission.
- John Carter Vincent - China Hand
- Clarence E. Gauss - Ambassador to China before and during Second World War.
- Peter Vladimirov (1905 - 1953), Soviet liason officer in Yenan, China, during the Second World War.
- Ray Cromley - Participant in the Dixie Mission, a stub currently due to all my books being boxed away from move. Ugh!
- Marshall Mission - George C. Marshall's failed attempt to prevent Civil War in China after World War Two.
- Melvin A. Casberg - Participant in the Dixie Mission, and a stub until...well, those darn boxes can be unpacked.
- SACO Treaty - Intelligence treaty signed by Republic of China and the U.S. during World War Two. Stub, again! Oi!
- Milton E. Miles - Commander of Naval Intelligence in China during the Second World War. ..and yes, a stub. Hrm.
Blue Expansion and Notation
editRequires expansion of material or notation of sources or both.
- John S. Service (1909 - 1999), first State Department representative to arrive in Yenan, China, as part of the Dixie Mission.
- David D. Barrett (1892 - 1977), first commanding officer of the Dixie Mission.
- Dixie Mission (1944 - 1947), the first official United States delegation to the Chinese Communist Party in Yenan, China.
- John P. Davies
- China Hands
- Koji Ariyoshi
- George I. Nakamura
Presidential Homes
editI created this category,Category:United States Presidential homes, thinking that I'd just need to skip through Wikipedia from page to page adding it to the appropriate articles. Then I learned that there were a surprising number of presidential homes which simply did not exist. So now I'm going through and making articles for the poor presidents who have until now lacked them. I got up to and through President Jimmy Carter. So Ronald Reagan and the rest still need to be categorized, and if articles not present, created. Yay! Here are two lists which are useful jump points, plus a very useful National Park Service link:
- List_of_United_States_presidential_residences
- List of Presidents of the United States
- NPS site for U.S. Presidents
Update
editBy my understanding, I can consider this project completed. Go me.
Southwest Virginia
editA historic region of Virginia which has amazingly gone without much notice here on Wikipedia. I established an article, Southwest Virginia, but there's still a long...way to go. See the discussion page for what can be done to help improve this article!
WikiProject Virginia
editAmazingly no project for Virginia has been established. The heck! So I've created a temporary page at WikiProject Virginia, and listed it at Wikipedia:WikiProject/List of proposed projects, swing by, add your name, and lets get this project rollin'.
Update
editWPVa was established and is sort of limping along from time to time, for lack of any leadership. Ah well. :)
United States Capitol
editAs a tour guide, I was shocked to see what Wikipedia did not cover, or when it did, not in enough detail. So I resigned myself to adding articles and photographs. As of this date, July 16th, I have added the following articles:
- Old Senate Chamber
- Old Supreme Court Chamber
- United States Capitol crypt
- Hall of Columns
- United States Capitol dome
- William Henry Powell
- Filippo Costaggini - stub - needs work
- John Gadsby Chapman

editHistory of the University of Arkansas
editQuite jealous of the more expansive and cited histories of other schools, I opted to take it on myself to create a version for Arkansas. The draft is underway and perhaps once the semester is over, I'll go back and finish it.
