About Me:
editI have been blessed with a wide variety of rich personal and professional experiences in my life. In the early 90’s while using new technology to learn to DJ and remix music I saw the potential of the technology industry. I decided to forego college and dive into technical training on my own. I received my Novell CNE Certification and became a passionate and fascinated member of the CNEPA. I began my career as an entrepreneur consulting for small businesses and writing the occasional article.
The latter resulted in my being recruited to work at Ziff-Davis Publishing. There I was fortunate to author many of the early definitive works regarding Directory Services, Distributed Computing and Remote Access. From there I developed my Customer Facing skills by moving into Product Management, Managing the development of a (now popular) web-based recruiting tool. I then became VP of Business Development for a startup, building relationships and managing large-scale user-interface and acceptance projects.
I then began a career in Telecom, where I helped to manage the technical side of the relationship between Genesys and Microsoft. During this time, my family and I also launched a salon and day spa, achieving the second-highest rating in the competitive San Francisco market. I was then recruited to become the Technical Product Manager for Microsoft CRM - I was honored to participate in the development of the Partner-Facing programs surrounding the Titan and CRM Live product families.
Deciding that I preferred a more direct relationship with the customer, I chose to become a member of the board of CRM Expert Web and to join Avanade with whom I have worked frequently in the past. I am an avid movie fan, blogger and music fan. I choose to focus my volunteer time bringing technology to people and areas of the world that suffer from a lack of technology infrastructure–empowering people with information and knowledge brings us all closer to an even playing field.
My areas of specialty: Situational Mediation, gaining trust and confidence in low-trust environments. High success rate with encouraging groups to keep agreements. Strong Evangelization and Advocacy skills. Deep Negotiating, Technical Presentation skills, Deep-Dive technical discussions. Ability to quickly understand highly complex, interdependent systems and explain them to non-technical audiences, Technical Content Development and Delivery, Liaison between highly technical and deeply non-technical groups
