The Super Bowl non-Tampa/Miami Curse is the tendency in recent Super Bowl years for bad weather to plague the Super Bowl when it is held in a location outside of Tampa or Miami. This often happens even when the location outside of Florida usually has a mild winter, and Mother Nature decides to dump cold weather on the location just before or during Super Bowl weekend.
Recent examples have been 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia, 2005 in Jacksonville, Florida, 2006 in Detroit, Michigan, and 2011 in Arlington, Texas, though whether or not 2006 can be included as an example is debatable because bad winter weather is common in Detroit anyway. San Diego does not or does no longer apply to the curse because until further notice it is not going to host any more Super Bowls unless a new stadium is built.
The curse will be put to the ultimate test in 2014 when the Super Bowl is played outdoors in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
