Thanks for letting me know you were considering FAR. I appreciate that you did. Looking at the article, it has changed considerably in some areas since it was promoted to FA. A review would be a good idea for that reason alone. My Wikipedia time is very limited at the moment and basically I pop in and out as time permits. I can't commit to something like this because I could end getting half way through it and then not be available to continue. I'll keep an eye out for any review, and will participate if I'm able to. Thanks again. Rossrs (talk) 07:10, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

ANI
editHi,
On ANI you comment "It is deemed by the community that his edits are disruptive." Isn't this putting the cart before the horse? Do you find my edits disruptive? If so why? Rich Farmbrough, 23:55, 21 October 2010 (UTC).
- Because it was deemed by the community that your edits were disruptive, I myself have no comment on your edits. Secret account 00:00, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- OK thanks. The reason I queried is that !votes are generally to gauge community consensus - so gauging the community consensus to make the !vote is rather pre-empting the decision. many thanks for your response. Rich Farmbrough, 01:30, 25 October 2010 (UTC).

- Sadly, I probably won't be working on sports articles anytime soon. I did want to make a push to revitalize the Patriots article, since it was my first FA contribution, but time is such a huge issue nowadays. I might try to give the Square-Enix project a boost, but I'll probably stick to general copy-editing, reviewing, and admin duties for now. My writing skills are a bit rusty, and copy-editing will certainly help. —Deckiller (t-c-l) 01:40, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

editI disagree slightly with your comment at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Greyshark09 and User:Lisa reported by User:Malik Shabazz (Result: both G and L cautioned), but thank you for taking the time to look. Your suggestion would have been reasonable, but I think we can get away without blocking in this case. Also, I am not sure why you put "warning" in scare quotes - the edit summary was jargon, but there was discussion at both user talk pages.

DYK for Jo-Jo Morrissey
editOn 18 November 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Jo-Jo Morrissey, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that prior to the 1933 Cincinnati Reds season, a newspaper reported that Jo-Jo Morrissey "developed amazingly", yet he finished fifth in the league in errors and batted .230? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

José Paranhos, Viscount of Rio Branco is now a FAC
editHi, since you reviewed Pedro II of Brazil when it was a FAC I thought you might be interested in taking a look at José Paranhos, Viscount of Rio Branco. The article is about a 19th century Brazilian statesman and it is strongly related to Pedro II's article. Thus, you'll notice that the subject is similar and quite easy to follow. I'd like to see your opinion about it and whether you support or oppose its nomination as a FAC. wikicup ideas....
editI am looking at ways of promoting the improvement of core encyclopedia content over trivia with the wikicup next year (see Wikipedia_talk:WikiCup/Scoring#Okay_-_bombs_away) (and I always prefer carrots to sticks). The wikicup rewards audited content such as DYKs, GAs and FAs. I have proposed bonus multipliers for subjects related to core content. The trick is trying to come up with a category that can be checked quickly (yes/no) to see if the article qualifies...and one that can't be gamed. I thought you may be intrigued at the proposal and comment on the categories proposed thus far (given previous interest in WP:ACID etc.) Casliber (talk · contribs) 11:11, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
