Frank Ellesworth Graeff Frank Ellsworth Graeff was born on December 19, 1860 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania and died on July 29, 1919, Ocean Grove, New Jersey. He is buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Frank Graeff was a Methodist pastor, serving some of the leading churches in and around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Reared and educated in “Pennsylvania Dutch” country, he sensed a call to the ministry early in life. In addition to pastoring, he went on to write 200 hymn texts, and one novel. The most famous of his hymn text was, "Does Jesus Care", which has been published in every major hymnal among Evangelical Christian Denominations in the United States and on many foreign mission fields since it writing and publication in 1901. Although often troubled with sickness and amid many hardships, throughout the area, he was known as the “Sunshine Minister,” for his optimistic attitude.
