Sergeant George Clive Wing (better known as Clive Wing by his family) was an RAF air gunner during the second world war. Prior to joining the RAF he was an Air Defence Cadet Corps cadet at No 94 (Feltham) Squadron (now 94 Sqn Air Training Corps). He is distinguished by being the first ADCC cadet (and therefore Air Cadet) to fly solo. He impressed as a cadet and came to the attention of Charles Hugesden who was a test pilot for General Aviation at Hanworth Aerodrome. Hugesden decided that he was a suitable candidate to become the first solo ADCC cadet. Clive completed his first flight and went on to complete several more solo flights from Hanworth.

On joining the RAF he was advised that there was a surplus of pilots and that there were other options within aircrew that he could enlist in. He chose to be an Air Gunner and flew with No 9 Sqn from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire. He and his crew lost their lives on the 20th / 21st December 1942 while on a raid over Duisburg in the Ruhr. They are all buried together at the protestant cemetery at Oosterhout near Arnhem in Holland. Clive was the youngest member of his crew and was killed in action at the age of 18.

The main office at 94 (Feltham) Squadron ATC bears his name and the article above along with a photo of him in flying kit.
