Hop-Scotch Polka new article content ... "Hop-Scotch Polka" is a 1949 song with lyrics by Carl Sigman and Gene Rayburn, based on the Billy Whitlock-composed instrumental, "Scotch Hot" (1919). "Hop-Scotch Polka"'s first recording was by Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians, with vocal chorus by Kenny Gardner and The Lombardo Trio, released on 8 July 1949. The song was copyrighted on 29 July 1949.[1]
