Chesapeake Railway Association The Chesapeake Railway Association ("Chessie" or CRA) is a non-profit railroad education and historic preservation group with close ties to the Walkersville Southern Railroad on which CRA's five pieces of rolling stock are maintained and operated.
CRA began as the Chesapeake Division, Railroad Enthusiasts, Inc., with a handful of members in Laurel, Maryland in the late 1960s. The Chesapeake Division became independent of the RRE in December 1999 and changed its name to the Chesapeake Railway Association, and today (2013)numbers approximately 130. [1]
