Project name |
WikiProject Editor Retention
|
Short Description |
This WikiProject exists to help keep good editors at Wikipedia. We address existing difficulties, the ever-changing needs of the general community, and provide a positive environment to discuss new ideas. We don't define policies but discuss them, hoping to find solutions that are specifically geared toward retaining editors.
|
Longer description |
The primary focus of WikiProject Editor Retention is to find out why editors contribute regularly, why they stop contributing, and if they do, what can we do to prevent others from leaving as well. We realise that Wikipedia will not work without editors, and we need to find means of allowing them to write the encyclopaedia without feeling their work is unvalued and causing them to consider leaving. The project tries to focus on positive feedback, saying what is RIGHT about Wikipedia, and encourages others to use those methods and establish new methods and ideas that make editing Wikipedia fun, fulfilling and rewarding for everyone. The project hosts the Editor of the Week program, designed to acknowledge one exceptional editor per week who might otherwise be overlooked.
