The Lost Station is a secret level on the popular first person shooter computer game, Quake 2, developed by id Software in 1997. This secret level was only available on the PC (Windows/Macintosh) version of the game, the place for entry is blocked on the PlayStation version and the Nintendo 64 version has no similarities between the PC and PlayStation version at all.
Location
editThe location of the Lost Station is found in the third level of the first sector, named the Comm Centre. It is found in the water pool in the second room. Towards the left of the pool, at the bottom, is a hole. Through this hole and along an underwater passage will take you to the lift which is used to access the Lost Station. A ReBreather is available at the side of the pool if you are a slow swimmer, or you are inexperienced in it's location.
Mission
editThe mission of the Lost Station is to find a Super Shotgun, a real bonus in the early stages of game. This level is noticeably harder than earlier levels and levels after; due to the amount of enemies and there is more strategy needed as a player to complete this level. A slightly harder to find red key needed to access the Super Shotgun has been known to confuse players. It is easy to stumble straight past it, for the pressure button to shoot to lower a ram to access it is not easily spotted.
Secrets
editThe Lost Station has a total six secrets.
First one is on the upper floor, in the water, below the horizontal lifts, in the water. Enter the water and go left through a underwater passage way. A ramp will take you out of the water and you be in a room with some amour shards and a ReBreather. A door will open to roughly where you started the level.
The second secret is on the lower floor, in the water again, below the horizontal lifts. To open it you need to go left and shoot the underwater pressure button. The head back to find a underwater door has been opened. There is a lift through that door, to a place with grenades and health.
The third secret is very hard to get to. It is beneath the ramp used to access the red key. There is nothing awarded for finding this secret apart from a standard health box and a button to raise the ramp again so you can get out of it.
The fourth secret is under the giant blasters on the middle floor. To access it you go to the blasters and left down a lift. You will land in a pool of water, go forward and you will find some adrenaline.
Multiplayer
editThe Lost Station is also available as a multiplayer level on the multiplayer features of Quake 2 (PC only).
