Rockn-Roll is the global username of Steven Edward Wood. Steve created this username in 1995 while playing Doom and Quake on a gaming service named mPlayer and later on Ten and Steam. He has used this username throughout his gaming career on hundreds of gaming web sites.
In 1996 Steve created an online gaming team named Rockn and after initially creating the username Rockn-Wood as a way of saying, "every solid building material" he changed it to Rockn-Roll indicating that the leader of a team named Rockn really should be Roll. The name was well received since Steve would play his electric guitar through his sound card which was broadcast through the game lobby.
In 1997 Steve launched a web site name Quake2League and hosted it and a game server with the domain of Rockn.net. His publishing of Quake 2 game secrets received over 1 million hits and caused a shut down of his internet by his internet service provider claiming that it was misuse of his service. But, it didn't matter because soon after that his fame resulted in him being chosen as the author of the Quake 2: Mission Pack 2 "Ground Zero" news article on Gamespy. He began writing gaming news articles on his web site and hosting tournaments. He also developed the first game server search engine to use Socket Arrays which launched hundreds of simultaneous server connections and scanned hundreds of servers a second when all other game search engines were using a single socket to search for game servers which resulted in several minutes to scan less than 100 servers. He also was the developer and administrator of the first deathmatch database which allowed players to connect and play against each other.
Steve has completed over 250 college units (equivalent to 10 years of intensive college level coursework) which focus on engineering, physics, and math and received five Dean's Awards for academic achievement. Steve made a discovery in physics which proves that electrons are NOT solid orbiting balls but actually a fluidic substance that surrounds the nucleus of an atom. Steve is currently the sole proprietor of the business and web site named CustomProductDesignAndDevelopment.com as well as CustomSoftwareDevelopment.com and has invented many products and applications for large corporations as well as individual users.
