   7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
   but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 NIV

Greetings. I have some experience working in the mathematical sciences, with 10 years of university education (capped with a doctorate in Geometric Topology), and 15 years of (largely informal) research experience in Information Theory.

I currently serve as a Logidomistis, or as a practitioner in the manipulation of computational structure. i.e., a Software Engineer.

I don't often contribute here as I suspect that Wikipedia is not really my thing - and I also have opinions that are off the beaten path a tad. That being said I do find this a useful resource and I appreciate the work that contributors, maintainers, and administrators here do, even if I don't always agree with their decisions. Volunteering large amounts of time to support this enterprise is eminently laudable and I appreciate everything that the small proportion of highly active individuals do on this site, as well as the balance of other more occasional / casual maintainers.

A useful acrostic

Before you speak: THINK

   T = is it True?
   H = is it Helpful?
   I = is it Inspiring?
   N = is it Necessary?
   K = is it Kind?

Philosophy towards changes

edit
  • Does it elevate the conversation?
  • Does it engender peacemaking & partnership in the mission of wikipedia?
  • Is it supportive?
  • Is it worded positively?
  • Is it sincere?
  • Is it well referenced?
  • Does it avoid original research?
  • Does the change exhibit Sang-froid in the face of opposition?
  • Does the change exhibit Savoir-vivre?

A couple of scriptural highlights

   7 Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults;
   whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse.
   8 Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you;
   rebuke the wise and they will love you.
   9 Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still;
   teach the righteous and they will add to their learning. Proverbs 9:7-9 NIV
   10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
   18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV
