Tasos S. Anastasiou was born in 1973 in Nicosia, Cyprus. He studied Economics, Accounting, and Finance at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), graduating with First Class Honours. During his academic tenure, he received awards for outstanding academic performance each year: the 1994 Ernst & Young Prize, the 1995 LSE Scholarship, and the 1996 Courtaulds Prize.
Following his graduation, Tasos trained with PwC as a Chartered Accountant. He excelled in his professional exams, earning the PwC Cyprus prize in 1998 for the best overall performance. He is now a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Professional Career
editAfter PwC, Tasos embarked on a diverse career journey, beginning in investment banking and progressing through a carefully curated selection of CFO and CEO roles. His most recent position was as the CEO of Trading Point Group, a global online trading platform, where he provided strategic leadership in a competitive financial technology landscape.
Since 2023, he has been serving as a Strategic Advisor to large organizations and entrepreneurs, offering guidance on business strategy, innovation, and growth. In 2024, he became the Chairman of the University of Cyprus Council, a pro bono position in which he provides strategic guidance and helps drive the development and growth of the University, shaping its future direction.
