Early Life

edit

Ritter was born and raised in Southern California. He completed his schooling through high school, and was then accepted to the University of California, Irvine, where he attended for two years before putting his education on hold to pursue a career in music. Ritter's reasons for discontinuing his education were that he could not find anything he wanted to major in, because he was not passionate about any particular subject.

Torches and Fuel

edit

One of the most important aspects of the art of fire breathing is the choice of fuel used. A number of factors go into choosing the right fuel, such as: flash point (whether a fuel ignites at high or low temperature), toxicity, flame color and visibility, smoke thickness and amount, etc. Various precautions and potential dangers lead to most fire breathers searching for a fuel that is both safe for the user and audience, as well as visibly entertaining. Kerosene has become the most commonly used fuel for this act due to its high flash point. Lamp oil is also a common choice, due to its chemical similarities to kerosene. Naphtha, commonly known as lighter fluid, is also used, though much less frequently than kerosene and lamp oil because of its low flash point and toxicity. Torches are the most common form of fuel lighting device used. Torches are used for their safety, allowing the fire breathers hand to be farther away from the actual flame. Smaller devices such as lighters or matches are not commonly used because of their high rate of risk, as both place the fire breathers hand close to the flame and lighters can explode in one's hand during such an act.
