Richard J. Hughes has authored over 160 scientific papers in: quantum field theory; elementary particle physics; the foundations of quantum mechanics; quantum computation; and quantum cryptography. He has 15 US patents in quantum communications. Richard is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He received his doctorate from the University of Liverpool, England, and has held research positions at: Oxford University and The Queen’s College, Oxford, England; the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California, USA; and CERN, Geneva, Switzerland. Richard retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory in 2014, where he was a Laboratory Fellow in the Physics Division. He is a Consulting Physicist.
