Signjet is a Somali printing & advertising agency founded 2005 in Mogadishu and provides services in graphic design and digital printing both indoor & outdoor. The company originated in 1972 as Sagal Arts, in 1982 as Jubba Arts and was renamed "SIGNJET Printing" in 2005. Together with its two sister agencies Sagaljet and Horyaljet, SIGNJET has 15 operational branch offices in Somalia.
History
editSignjet dates back to 1972, when Sagal Arts used hand paintings and screen print as its latest arts techniques available at that time. Most of the customers at the time included governmental institutions, private business sector & foreign missions in Somalia. In 1982, the company was renamed as Jubba Arts and offered modern plastic signboards by using both hand painting and machinery. Jubba Arts was one of the biggest companies in the arts & drawing at the time in Somalia.
In 1991, after the collapse of the central government in Somalia, operations of Jubba Arts come to halt but restarted its business in 1993 The company was operating until 2005 when it was rebranded as Signjet with the idea of migrating from old hand painting techniques to more modern digital printing machines.
