Pan-Africanism
Means, the idea that people of African descent must have a common and Permanent interests and should be unified, irrespective of your Country, Region, District/County, Chiefdom/Kingdom/Clan, Section, Religion, Tribe, Education, Occupation, Economy, Social and Political Backgrounds. But yet still we see Africans Killing and looting Africans in Nigeria, D.R. Congo, Senegal, Eritrea and Ethiopia to name but few. This is a mere misinterpretation of Pan-Africanism, as “Africa needs Leaders, not rulers. Strong Institutions, not powerful men”.
I want to thank all Zambians both Home and Abroad for their Peaceful Transition of Power in their just concluded August 2021 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections. This is a clear manifestation of Democracy which I encourage all current African leaders and those intending to attain Offices (not only by Election, but even by selection or appointment) to always learn from Zambians.
Special thanks and appreciation to the living legend of Pan-Africanism, Professor Patrick L. O Lumumba of Kenya for propagating the message till date. As the late Bob Nesta Marley Once said, “One Love” we must have for all and hate for none.
I REMAIN A Pan-Africanist. BY SIMEON KALLON (SIMKAL)
