Heritage & Childhood

edit

My name is Stéphane and I am a Canadian. I was born to an Ontarian father and a Quebecois mother. Interestingly, my great grandmothers on both sides of the family were aboriginal, so I proudly have some native blood as well.

I was raised in Southwestern Ontario. However, I spent my childhood summers in Quebec at my Uncle's lake-side cottage in the Laurentians.

I attended a french elementary school and a bilingual high-school. I studied computer technology in college.

Employment & Projects

edit

I am a technology consultant that has his own home business.

For much of my life I have enjoyed writing stories, but have never attempted to publish my work. I am currently attempting to write a series of short stories that I plan to release in digital form.

I am also working on a website up about history that I hope to launch in the near future.

Interests & Pastimes

edit

My interests include philosophy, theology, and technology.

I enjoy reading, writing, and gaming. I also enjoy the occasional TV show and film.

Philosophy & Politics

edit

I am a theist that believes in absolute truth. However, I don't believe any person, religion, scripture, or organization knows or has the full absolute truth. We should remain humble in our philosophies because we all have a limited perspective, subjective experiences, and biased beliefs.

Ultimately I believe kindness and respect are more important than truth and knowledge. The Golden Rule of "treating others as one would like others to treat oneself" is expressed in nearly all philosophies and religions. Human rights is a similarly important concept.

I am a moderate when it comes to politics. In a perfect world I would be fully libertarian, perhaps even anarchistic. Unfortunately, this is an imperfect world where people abuse their resources, privileges, and fellow human beings. I believe some form of government is necessary to administer resources and justice. Since governments are made up of fallible people, they can unfortunately also abuse their resources, privileges, and fellow humans beings.
