BRIEF HISTORY OF WAZIRI GOMBE
Alhaji Aliko Ibrahim Jalo Waziri was born in the ancient city of Gombe in May 1958. He attended Tudun Wada Primary School, Gombe and Yelwa Primary School Maiduguri, Borno State between 1965 and 1971. He later proceeds to General Murtala Mohammed College Yola, formerly G.S.S. Yola between 1971 and 1976. His working career in the private sector started in 1981 when he worked in a consultancy and construction firm[1]. He is a successful businessman. He has served as a councillor in Gombe Local Government, from July 1996 to 1997. Alhaji Aliko I.J. Waziri, the Waziri of Gombe, has travelled far and near. The Waziri is one of the Traditional Kingmakers. A senior councillor and Deputy President of the Emirate Council. He is also the head of Traditional Title Holders in Gombe and a senior Adviser to the Emir[2].
