What went wrong? That Mohammad Javad Abedi Ostad should be a football or tennis player is, I guess, a young man's fantasy (see User talk:Mohammad Javad Abedi Ostad), but tagging G3 here was wrong, it is just an article being hijacked.
What should I have done differently? Looked more carefully in the article history.
Notes: What I failed to also do was to remove the (Notification: speedy deletion nomination of William Atashkadeh. (TW)) posted in Special:Diff/564129865. I have since removed it in Special:Diff/844012276.
What went wrong? First, since this is a BLP, it is the wrong template, the right one would have been {{BLP unsourced}}. But it is simply plain laziness not to try and source the article.
What should I have done differently? Found at least one good source to add.
Notes: I can see other cases like this in the following weeks where I add either {{unreferenced}} or {{BLP unsourced}} to articles instead of making an effort.
What went wrong? Seriously misfire with the Twinkle gun only 13 minutes after article creation.
What should I have done differently? Either stayed away or, as always, helped with sourcing. "first Malaysian (and first Tamil) to conquer the summit of Mount Everest" is a WP:CCS.
