Solomon Mohlalefi Khati who is best known as BlackShordy was born and raised in the Gauteng township of Thokoza. He then moved to Vaal Triangle Sebokeng where his passion for music began. He became a massive fan of the arts and Culture which inspired and nurtured his love for hip-hop. He would enter and win various talent shows which further fuelled his love for music which led to his dream to become a musician.
In 2004 BlackShordy moved to the UK when he continued to pursue his dream. Everything kicked off in 2008 where he formed a group with other artists from the UK Jamaica and South Africa under Blackshordy Entertainment. They performed in major cities like London Oxford and Birmingham. From an early age, Shordy (as called by his peers) was always positive and hard-working and continues to follow this way of life up until this very day! Realizing that he wanted more growth, he pushed himself into achieving a goal to be on top of his music career by learning to be a music producer and engineer.
Fast forward into 2014, Shordy's passion to be on stage was reignited. With the reputation preceding him he was immediately booked to open massive acts such as Dr. Malinga, AKA, Heavy K, Professor, DJ Miza, Nicksoul and most recently Zakes Bantwini. As of 2018 Blackshordy has been working on his Rockmonate Ent label as both artist and co-owner and shooting videos. He has also been producing projects with talented producers such as Kali Beatz, Murphy Cubic, House Junkee and Levi Beats which promises to be a storm!
Most recently BlackShordy has performed with the likes of Holly Rey and Zahara at the 2019 MzansiFestival and at 2019 ZimFest which has been the highlight of his career so far.
The year 2020 has taken Blackshordy’s music to a higher level with his fresh single “Dololo” released on the 25th September. The hype of the song has attracted a radio tour with various South African and UK radio stations which broadens the brand identity of the artist.
