SapphireC is an avatar representing a Tasmanian educator who has spent six years in a range of virtual worlds including Second Life, Open Sim (in JokaydiaGRID), Quest Atlantis, World of Warcraft, and more recently Minecraft.
In all of these virtual worlds I have joined educational communities of practice and watched learners from 4 years old to 80 learning to learn, discussing how and why - and more importantly - enjoying themselves as they do so. I have worked with students from grade 3 to grade 12 in virtual worlds, and still marvel at what students can do if just given the tools and the opportunity.
I am presently working with grades 7 to 10 in a country high school, introducing virtual worlds and learning.
