The Thadou language is spoken by people (known as The Thadou tribe) in Myanmar, mostly in the Chin State and Sagiang Division. Speakers of this language are also across India and Bangladesh borders, specifically they are found in Manipur, Assam, Nagaland and Mizoram in India. The Thadou language is known by many names, including Thado, Thado-Ubiphei, Thado-Pao, Kuki, Kuki-Thado, Thaadou Kuki, Chin, and Thādo-pao. The estimated total number of Thadou speakers is 269,200. Currently, the Thadou Wiki page only has a few pieces of information about the language that really explain nothing about the background of the severely endangered language. I intend to add in this history behind the language as well as introduce and explain other dialects of this language. I also want to bring up the different names this language goes by and the slight differences between each dialect. Lastly, I want to add in where the language is still used today and how endangered it is as well as discussing how the lifestyle, background, and traditions of the people using the language is like. By doing so, I feel like the language will become more meaningful and the culture of the Thado people can be understood by the audience. I think a difficulty I might face is the little information that is known about this language and its different dialects, but I will try my best to research all about it.
