Daniel Léo Simpson (28 December, 1959) is an American composer.
He studied music theory at Buena High School in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He continued his studies at the the university of Arizona, Tucson. He received a Master's degree in Theory and Composition from the university of Arizona. In 1990 he moved to California where he studied the art of adding music for motion pictures. He wrote music for films, TV talk shows, commercials and documentaries. He won first price in the First Annual International Schillinger composition contest sponsored by The Schillinger School of Music for his composition The Art of Schillinger and the 2010 winner of the Alabama Orchestra Association Festival competition for his Tuscaloosa Tango.
