The Beginning

edit

Triaxis are a heavy metal band from South Wales. The band formed in 2006 with the original lineup of:

  • CJ - Guitar
  • Giles - Drums
  • Gio - Guitar
  • Darren - Bass
  • [TBC] - Vocals

The band name Triaxis was decided on at the last minute before a gig. The band wanted to have a short 2 or 3 syllable name that could be easily chanted by the crowd, and Triaxis was their final choice.

In 2008 Krissie and Owen joined the band on vocals and bass respectively and after several gigs in local venues, Triaxis recorded and released an E.P. called "Lord of the Northern Sky", which was released in late 2008. The E.P. featured 4 tracks:

  • Lord of the Northern Sky
  • Aurora
  • Now is the Time
  • Wasted Years (an Iron Maiden cover recorded live in the studio)

2009 - 2010

edit

In 2009, Triaxis self-recorded and released their debut album, "Key to the Kingdom" which was to be hailed a success with Magazines[1] such as Metal Hammer, Terrorizer and Zero Tolerance giving positive reviews, and tracks from the album gained airplay on BBC Radio's Bruce Dickinson's Rock Show. Triaxis also played at Bloodstock Open Air festival, receiving positive feedback from the audience.

Gio left the band in October 2009 and was replaced by Glyn. The band played a few gigs but then took a break before returning to the scene in September 2010. They also gained a slot supporting Kobra and the Lotus on their UK tour in November 2010.

2011 - Present

edit

Triaxis returned to Bloodstock Open Air festival in 2011, and also appeared at Hammerfest in the same year.

After playing several venues across the UK, Triaxis returned to the studio in October 2011, this time choosing to have their work recorded, mixed and mastered at Foel Studio in Powys, Mid Wales. The band released several "teaser" videos on youtube of Glyn recording guitar solos and the like, and also released a DVD of their 2011 tour - a collection of behind the scenes footage and recordings of live performances, such as the Snooty Fox in Wakefield.

In May of 2012, Triaxis signed to the Rocksector Records label, a label whose artists also include Tygers of Pan Tang, Fury UK and Absolva, among others. The signing was announced by the band in July 2012 via their Twitter and Facebook pages.

On 8th October 2012 Triaxis released their much awaited second album titled 'Rage and Retribution'[2]. They signed 50 copies of the album which were avaiable for pre-order - all of which sold out before the release date. The band also announced a UK Tour to coincide with the album release.

The band embarked on the 'Rage and Retribution Tour' on 11th October 2012, starting in Manchester. The tour covered many venues in the UK, and also ventured into Europe, namely Germany and Belgium.

The current band lineup is:

  • Krissie - Vocals
  • Owen - Bass & Backing Vocals
  • CJ - Rhythm Guitar & Backing Vocals
  • Glyn - Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals
  • Giles - Drums
