The 2015 AMA Grand National Championship was the 62nd season since the series inception as a championship, and the first season featuring the new GNC1 unified division after the 2006 split in Twins and Singles. Neverthless, riders still had to switch between twin cylinder motorcycles with purpose-built frames for Mile and Half-mile races, and production-based single cylinder bikes for Short Track and TT events.
Jared Mees won his third overall title riding the Harley-Davidson XR-750 twin and the Honda CRF450R single.
Former Pro divisions were reorganized as the new GNC2 feeder class; Davis Fisher won his first national title riding a Kawasaki-powered twin and the Honda CRF450R single.
Former Expert Twins and Expert Singles divisions are merged in the new GNC1 class; only the overall title is awarded

One (1) championship point is awarded to the best qualified rider, as determined by the Dash for Cash session.
One (1) championship point is awarded to the rider that leads the most laps in the main event. In the event of a tie for most laps led, the last rider in the lead position will be awarded the point.
Ties are broken by number of wins, followed by number of 2nds, 3rds, etc. If a tie remains, the best finish in the last race will determine the champion.
